We all have plans about what we would like to do idealy in life. When I was a young child my family lived on a farm. We worked hard. I thought of myself as
a farmer, someone that you did not want to be, The idea in the 60s and 70s was to get futher education and you would not need to work so hard to make a living. I will tell you that it was a misconception that a farmer was who you did not want to be . I would and will become a farmer again. The sustainability of life depends on food source and how we manage our earth. Green Acres was something that I took for granted and I believe Hollywood took less educated people for granted. Even though there theme seemed to be that farming was a better life than the big city life I believe they used the theme to attract an audiuance that could delight and benefit between the comparision of the educated and uneducated.
I hope that the series can find a network that will continue to allow viewers to learn something that will teach them that even Lawyers and well educated can understand that there is more to life than power and money. This 1960s series is a wakeup call to what life is really about. Farm on, bring back the wild bees by using less pesticde, do not be afraid of pests in the garden. They are not going to take over your crop. Ther are many ways to reduce crop damage without pesticides. Share your knowledge and produce. Work hard to bring back self sustainability. Farm Farm Farm.

I was browsing You Tube the other day and came across the best impersonation of Mr. Haney I had ever seen. Scott Innes, a radio personality in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, captures Haney so dead on, that if you heard his voice and Pat Buttram`s without the visual presentation, it would be difficult to tell the real one from the imitator. Innes actually dresses like Haney and has a replica of his infamous truck behind him. There are two clips of him, one of 19 seconds in duration, the other 2:21(the longer clip illustrates Haney in full deceptive sales mode). Absolutely hilarious stuff. Innes, in addition to being a DJ, does voiceover work for the Scooby Doo cartoon franchise. After accessing You Tube, you can view Innes by punching in Green Acres Mr. Haney, and it comes up right away.

Seeing GREEN ACRES first run on CBS during the 60`s brings back alot of good memories we had growing up watching TV in B+W with mom and dad howling at their antics, low brow humor that was done in a way as to not insult your intelligence by gifted and creative writers and actors.NEED MORE GREEN ACRES type TV these days to make us laugh out loud again..thanks

Neat site here... a little bit of useless trivia.. My cousin was the UPS delivery man for the entire town of Pacific Palisades, CA all thru the 60s, 70s and up til the earlu 1980s as well, and was on a first name basis with many celebrities who made their homes there. My cousin always made a point to tell us in the family who were the nicest most personable of all the celebrities on his route. He always said Eddie Albert was the nicest guy and always gave him a nice Christmas present every year. Among the other notables he knew well in Pacific Palisades were Ronald Reagan, Joan Crawford and Walter Pidgeon. I think he told me Gregory Peck was on his route as well. sadly every one of them, including my cousin, now are all deceased. Great stories as a kid though...

Your site reconnected me to a simpler time, when as a child all was good. Please thank Mr. Lester for relying and listening to the Lord. He should contact Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort and help them to spread the Gospel.

With the loss of beloved Andy Griffith, did you know that 5 Green Acres stars guested on The Andy Griffith Show? Frank Cady Hank Patterson, Mary Grace Canfield, Alvy Moore and Sid Melton all appeared separately.
