Kevin, I second your sentiments about GA. Rest in peace Frank Cady(1915-2012). Sam Drucker was, by far, the most logical of the native Hootervillians. Well, sort of.

The best show ever on TV. What wonderful memories and I wonder when they are going to release all of these on DVD instead of just the first three seasons.

Green Acres will always have a special place in my memory. Looking at the RIP section makes me so sad. We`ve lost a little more of our innocence with the passing of each of these actors. I wish television was as enjoyable now as it was back then. We`ll never be able to re-capture how it was. We miss you all.

Green Acres had some of the greatest comedic dialogue ever. Example: Ralph Monroe: ` Hankie, if you weren`t so darn sexy, I`d bash your brains in.`

RIP Sid Melton/Alf Monroe(5/22/17-11/3/11), who left us last fall. He was the third GA cast member to reach nonagenarian status, following the great Eddie Albert(Oliver Douglas) and Frank Cady(Sam Drucker). Frank is still with us and lives out in Oregon(he`ll be 97 this coming September). Sid was hilarious as the incompetent `carpenter` Alf Monroe. Just watching Oliver getting angrier at him with each wise crack he uttered, kept me laughing until I had hiccups. Sid had a lengthy show business career, specifically in episodic television. In addition to GA, he made memorable appearances in the television series Make Room For Daddy(also known as the Danny Thomas Show), the Dick Van Dyke Show, and the Golden Girls, among his other small screen acting credits, which totaled in the hundreds. He will never be forgotten among our fan base. God Bless You Sidney.

`Green Acres` is an absolute classic American treasure! What an insightful perspective into human institutions . . . the real world parallels Hooterville in an unfortunate manner. Of course, even Mr. Haney is highly ethical compared with recent banking and Wall Street practices! It is also fun to watch Oliver and Lisa, who are so very different, treat each other with respect, love, and humor. I love this show!

just dropped in to pick up the lyrics for a family member moving from the city to the country. Thought they`d get a laugh. I had an excellent break in my day visiting your site. Love the miniature farm and the detailing. Funtastic!

I loved this show as a kid, even if I didn`t quit understand some of the humor. Why can`t we have shows like that today?

Happy 46th anniversary today(9/15) to the greatest sitcom ever. I`m celebrating the occasion with a pot of Lisa`s hotscakes stew, washed down of course with a Stankwell Falls Fizz. All six seasons of GA(170 episodes) can be seen for free on the Internet Movie Database(IMDB)website.
